Interventional Cardiology

Interventional cardiology is a branch of cardiology that deals with the catheter-based treatment of structural heart diseases. Many procedures can be performed on the heart by catheterization. This approach offers several key benefits. They allow for quick access to the heart through the femoral artery, which is easily reachable in most patients. This method also provides better bleeding control, even in patients taking blood thinners. Additionally, patients usually find catheter-based procedures more comfortable, as they can often sit and walk shortly after it’s done.

Our cardiac catheterization procedures:

  • Angioplasty
  • Coronary angioplasty
  • Percutaneous coronary intervention
  • Percutaneous valve replacement
  • Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
  • Valvuloplasty
